John McCain and Sarah Palin gin up the troooops…
UPDATE – still 10.10.08: OK. Here’s what I think I just saw here. An angry audience member seizes leadership of the Republican party from John McCain, and McCain acquiesces. McCain is a weakling, and that creates a very dangerous situation.

“I’m embarrassed to admit that after all these years in politics, I failed to interpret your previous assurances as typical rhetorical gloss routinely used in politics to make self-interested partisan posturing appear more noble. I understand how important the opportunity to lead your party’s efforts to exploit this issue must seem to a freshman senator, and I hold no hard feelings over your earlier disingenuousness.”
Here is a revealing exchange of letters that helps illuminate John McCain’s ongoing anger problem, in this case vis a vis Barack Obama.
Read McCain’s letter. It is an artifact from a profoundly troubled personality.
I try to find compassion, and know that this man suffered much as a prisoner of war. I wish he were not in such pain.
But I don’t want him anywhere being Commander in Chief.

I am so invested in favor of Obama and Change that I cannot begin to pretend to objectivity. However, I must say I found myself really disliking McCain’s condescending sarcastic demeanor.
What an asshole.
UPDATE – an interesting link from Talking Points Memo.
